Dorien & Nicole Fenwick

Find out more about Nicole Fenwick

Renowned for wildlife and animal paintings, Nicole captures something deeper rather than conventional - the sensitivity and beauty of the animal is conveyed in their eyes and by using colour with unique brushstrokes.

Light layers of paint create the texture of fur or feathers and carefully placed splashes and marks allow movement to be expressed.

"I have always loved to paint and I am particularly inspired by rural life and nature. The diverse wildlife of Northumberland is a constant source of inspiration and I love walking in hills and woodlands around the Northumberland National Park ".

After a career in marketing and design in London and with a degree in Classics and Ancient Art History and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Management, Nicole returned to Northumberland in 2009 to run the Fenwick Gallery which was founded by her mum, landscape artist Dorien Fenwick in 1990.
